Answers to the most common questions about importing your library, syncing with WebDAV, and how the Discover tab works. Can't find what you need — reach out below.
On the Home tab, tap Import. Pick a single file (CBZ, CBR, 7Z,
PDF or EPUB) or a whole folder — ComicToons figures out whether it's one comic,
several comics, or a set of archives and sorts it into your Local library.
Everything reads locally, fully offline, once it's on your device.
Go to Settings → WebDAV Comic Library and connect your own
WebDAV server. ComicToons doesn't run its own cloud — your files stay on
infrastructure you control, and every device pointed at the same server sees
the same library.
No. Discover only shows public metadata — titles, cover art, ratings, genres and synopses — sourced from AniList and MyAnimeList's public APIs, plus links to each title's official publisher page where one exists. There is no streaming, downloading, or hosted reading of copyrighted content anywhere in the app.
Actual reading only happens through comics you already own, imported locally or synced via your own WebDAV server.
It's generated on the spot from that title's own public metadata (genre, format, year, chapter count, and so on) — just a quick, optional way to see how well you know a series. Nothing is downloaded or stored beyond the app.
No sign-in is required to use the app. Your library, reading history, ratings and preferences are stored on your own device (and, optionally, your own WebDAV server) — never on our servers, because we don't run any.
Uninstalling the app removes everything stored locally. If you connected a WebDAV server, that data lives on your own server and can be removed there directly at any time.
